An extraordinary congress of the UAF, which will elect a new head of the association, will be held on January 25, 2024.
All permanent members of the Ukrainian Football Association, who have the right to nominate candidates for the position of UAF president, have submitted minutes of their governing bodies' meetings on this issue. All the minutes nominate 47-year-old Andriy Shevchenko, winner of the 2004 Golden Ball, Hero of Ukraine, and recipient of the National Legend of Ukraine award, for the position of UAF president
The UAF received a written consent from Shevchenko to participate in the election. The association informed FIFA and UEFA of this.
