In Lithuania, over 500 members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union have undergone training based on the principles of small unit tactics used by the U.S. Army. American instructors previously used similar methods to train Ukrainian special operations forces, reports LRT, writes UNN.

The training lasted over two months with the participation of servicemen from the 1st Cavalry Division of the United States, special operations forces instructors, and Lithuanian riflemen, who themselves became instructors after completing the course.
Participants practiced individual soldier skills, small group tactics, operations in urban areas, assault and clearance of territory, as well as conducting ambushes and raids.

The training took place simultaneously at several training grounds and facilities in Lithuania. According to the scenario, rifle units operated in territory conditionally controlled by the enemy, struck important targets, and practiced organized withdrawal.

Special attention during the course was paid to tactical medicine and evacuation of the wounded using helicopters of the Lithuanian Air Force.
As LRT notes, the American instructors who conducted this training cycle previously used a similar methodology when training Ukrainian special operations forces, who are currently participating in combat operations.
