Rescue teams have already evacuated 2498 people, including 162 children, from snow traps in Odesa region. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Oleh Kiper on his tg-channel , UNN reports.
In addition, 849 vehicles were towed away, including 24 buses and 17 ambulances.
Since the beginning of the bad weather (11/26), all the hostages of the snow drifts have been released. Rescuers are now helping several people who got stuck in their cars this morning
The head of the OVA added that icy conditions were reported on the roads.
"Municipal equipment is working in the region, the road surface is being treated with technical salt and sand. So I ask drivers not to drive on the roads unless there is an emergency. I also appeal to those who are still on summer tires: do not drive under any circumstances!" he wrote.
Kiper also said that since the beginning of the day, as of 08:00, 20 accidents have been recorded in the region. All of them were without casualties.
"There is no electricity in 313 settlements. DTEK power engineers are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences," informs the head of the Regional State Administration.
