At the Krasnoyilsk checkpoint, border guards found a tanker truck with boxes of contraband cigarettes. UNN reports this with reference to the State Border Guard Service.
At the Krasnoyilsk checkpoint, border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment prevented the transportation of a large batch of contraband cigarettes. The tanker truck in which the cigarettes were hidden arrived for border and customs clearance at night. The shipping documents submitted for control by the driver, a citizen of Ukraine, stated that he was leaving Ukraine with an empty tank
It is noted that the operational staff of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment had information about the possible illegal transportation of tobacco products.
"The driver was asked to move the car to the place of in-depth inspection using a scanning device. Realizing that he would be exposed, the offender began to obstruct the movement of his car in every possible way, pulling out electrical wires and claiming that the car was faulty," the SBGSU informs.
Accompanied by border guards, the truck was nevertheless delivered to the place of in-depth inspection at the Porubne checkpoint.
"During the additional border and customs inspection, the scan showed that the tanker did indeed contain boxes of cigarettes. The seizure of the contraband goods from the tanker is ongoing," the statement said.
