In the Zhytomyr region, while extinguishing a fire that lasted almost 5 hours, a lifeguard was killed, another was injured, the state emergency service in the Zhytomyr region reported, writes UNN.

Rescuers received a message about a fire in a two-story brick building in the village of Romanov, Zhytomyr region, on November 28 at 02:54.
Upon arrival at the scene of the call, it was established that the fire occurred in one of the rooms on the second floor. From there, the fire spread to the roof and ground floor. Additional forces and Means were sent to the fire site using an elevated call number. Extinguishing was complicated by the fire load and features of building structures, the State Emergency Service noted.
"The fire was extinguished at 07:15. during the elimination of the fire, a lifeguard was killed, another was injured," the State Emergency Service said.
