The animal was rescued from illegal sale on OLX in Kyiv region. In September, animal rights activists made contact with the "sellers" and and agreed to transfer the "goods". Officers of the Obukhiv district police department, who seized the lynx and sent it to to a holding facility for rescued wildlife until a court decision is made in accordance with Art. 265-5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

After improper maintenance, the cub required long-term treatment. It was diagnosed with anorexia, toxocariasis, parasite intoxication with with vomiting and diarrhea. Veterinarians gave her a 30% chance of recovery and were not were not sure that she would be able to stand on her own two legs.
However, this strong girl, who, by the way, was named Ursa, has recovered thanks to proper treatment and careful care! Now Ursa is feeling well, growing and gaining strength. She has already been transferred from the isolation center to a large and warm enclosure, where she continues her rehabilitation
After the animal was seized, the following circumstances were established, and the relevant materials were added to the case:
- the animal belongs to the species of the Red Book Eurasian lynx Lynx lynx (Linnaeus, 1758);
- health problems and insufficient development for the age of the animal, caused by conditions of detention that do not correspond to biological characteristics;
- we received an official response to our request from the Ministry of of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine about the lack of proper permits from the seller, which indicates illegal removal from the wild, importation and from the wild, importation, keeping and breeding of this species.
