Brazil's Federal Prosecutor's Office and the federal police of the state of Pará said they would launch an investigation following reports of a boat found with decomposed bodies off the coast of the northern Brazilian state. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

The Federal Police reported that experts and forensic teams had been sent to the remote area.
The number, nationality and cause of death of the victims are still unknown, the federal police confirmed.
The boat was found by fishermen in an area known as Barra do Cuatipuru, near the beach of Azhuruteua in Bragança, in the northeast of the state of Pará.
Federal police, together with the fire brigade and the navy, were seen on Sunday, April 14, maneuvering a boat off the coast of Braganza.
Brazil's Federal Prosecutor's Office reported that some local news outlets, Para, claimed that there could have been up to 20 bodies on the boat and that they were Haitian migrants. Reuters was unable to independently verify this information.
