Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko said that taxation of car registration and jewelry is a soft approach to increasing budget revenues. He said this during a telethon, UNN reports.

We are at war and nonessential goods should be taxed. Therefore, the registration of cars and jewelry falls into this category. I believe that this is a fairly lenient approach we have proposed

 ,” Marchenko says.

He emphasized that Ukraine has to make a choice: either to finance its own army or to discuss taxes.

We believe that any goods should be taxed as in all civilized countries

- He added.
