Ukraine seeks to use AI and Big Data to combat "Shaheds" - Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense and Palantir are implementing AI to intercept Russian drones. The parties discussed the development of the DELTA system and long-range weaponry.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov held a meeting with Alex Karp, CEO of the American company Palantir Technologies, during which he presented the Ukrainian defense strategy and the use of artificial intelligence in the war against Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The Ministry of Defense stated that one of Ukraine's key goals is to strengthen capabilities for detecting and intercepting Russian drones, particularly through AI solutions.

In the air, our goal is to see better, predict faster, and destroy more effectively. In winter, Russia used about 27,000 "Shaheds" against Ukraine. We are increasing our capabilities for their detection and interception

The Ukrainian side also presented the "Army of Drones.Bonus" system, the operating principle of "yeBaliv," and the DELTA management system, which is used for coordinating combat operations and decision-making on the battlefield, to Palantir representatives.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that data analytics and new management systems play a key role in modern warfare.

Separately, the parties discussed the development of Ukrainian deep strike weaponry for strikes against facilities that help Russia finance and wage war.

The Palantir team was also shown Ukrainian AI tools for analyzing combat data, target detection, mission planning, and increasing the effectiveness of the Defense Forces.

The Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine and Palantir Technologies discussed further cooperation on technological solutions in the field of security and defense.
