The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has clarified that the recent desert dust in Ukraine does not qualify as a dust storm and urged people not to panic, UNN reports.
Details
"Desert dust is not a dust storm. For a dust storm, the wind speed must be above 12 m/s, and it must last for 3 hours or more. Forecasters of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center do not expect an increase in wind speed, and therefore there will be no storm this time," the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center said on Facebook.
"Please do not confuse a slight decrease in visibility due to dust with a dangerous natural phenomenon. Do not imagine too much and do not panic," the agency urged.
