The presence of intermediaries always increases the cost of products and manipulates the terms of supply. Their absence and fair competition always leads to cost optimization and lower purchase prices. In an exclusive commentary to UNN, Interrybflot, a canned fish producer, expressed its vision of the initiative of the new team of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to exclude intermediaries from food tenders.
The company noted that only the new team at the Ministry of Defense paid attention to this important aspect. This should have been done earlier.
"Frankly speaking, we are surprised that such an initiative has emerged only now, more than 650 days into Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The presence of intermediaries, unfortunately, always increases the cost of products and manipulates the terms of supply. We have experience in participating in government tenders and fulfilling the conditions in full, so we are ready to implement the new system," the company said in response to a request from UNN.
They added that the Ministry of Defense determines the range of products required. But, in any case, fair competition between manufacturers will help reduce purchase prices.
"Product quality requirements are usually clearly defined in the tender requirements for the subject of procurement, and the manufacturer is responsible. In addition, there are accredited laboratories of the Ministry of Defense that can independently check the quality for compliance at any stage of delivery.
The absence of intermediaries and fair competition always leads to cost optimization and lower purchase prices. The expansion of the range depends on the needs of the Ministry of Defense, and no one has canceled the laws of the market - demand creates supply," the company said.
