On 17 November 2023, the Noosphere icebreaker set sail from Cape Town (South Africa) to the Antarctic - this will be its third Antarctic season under the blue and yellow flag. On Wednesday, 6 December, at night, the team of Ukrainian polar explorers reached King George Island, where the Polish Antarctic station "Arttowski" is located.
It is said that the ship's journey from Cape Town to King George was 4125 miles (6638 km) and and took 19 days. The icebreaker during its journey "met" with storms, but the experienced team of navigators under the leadership of Captain Alexander Grishko skillfully avoided them. Today and in the coming days, the "Noosphere" will continue unloading: 9 containers with with almost 450 tons of various items and 140 thousand liters of fuel for the "Arttovsky".
