The European Commission has launched three new initiatives in Kyiv that will promote the development of EU research and innovation cooperation with Ukraine. This is reported on the EC website, UNN reports.

The initiatives include the opening of the New Horizon Europe office in Kyiv, the creation of the European Innovation Council (EIC) to support the Ukrainian technology community, and the establishment of the community of the new European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The initiatives were launched with the participation of Ilyana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth of the European Commission, Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister, and Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science.
The new Horizon Europe office is expected to raise awareness of the opportunities for Ukraine's participation in EU joint research programs. The European Innovation Council (EIC4Ukraine) will support Ukraine's deep tech community by allocating €20 million to Ukrainian startups. The initiative, implemented by the European network of startup associations, will support at least 200 Ukrainian startups with up to 60 thousand euros each.

The EIT Community Center in Kyiv will serve as a one-stop shop for information on opportunities offered by the entire EIT community, giving Ukrainian innovators access to partners, markets, testbeds, training, and investment.
