Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga will return to their iconic roles in the reboot of the 90s drama series Melrose Place.

A reboot of the cult 90s series Melrose Place starring Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga has been announced 24 years after it was canceled, E! News, writes UNN.

Details

"Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga will return to their iconic characters from the '90s drama in the CBS Studios reboot," the publication writes.

In addition to returning to the screen as indicated, Layton and Tsuniga are producing the new series alongside Tiffany Grant, Jason Weinberg and writer Lauren Gassis, whose previous work includes Insatiable and Dexter.

Originally created by Darren Starr, the original Melrose Place was about the dramas and love lives of a group of young people living in Los Angeles. The series first aired in 1992 and successfully ran for seven seasons before its finale in May 1999.

"In a new revival, the group comes together again after the death of a close friend," the newspaper writes.

However, the reunion soon "lays bare old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old grudges, and reveals new secrets," according to the series logline, "throwing our characters into a chaotic drama reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective."

But this is not the first time Melrose Place has been revived. The version of the same name starring Katie Cassidy, Stephanie Jacobsen, Jessica Lucas, Michael Reddy and Sean Sipos ran for one season in 2009.

Series premieres in April31.03.24, 15:09
