The rebel leader also said that he was closely monitoring possible chemical weapons sites and coordinating with international organizations to secure them. The group has already announced that it will not use chemical weapons under any circumstances.
In the statement, Sharaa reiterated that he would form a government of technocrats, and that the current transitional government would remain in place until March 2025.
