One of the tasks of the local authorities is to support the operation of existing industrial enterprises in their settlements and promote the opening of new ones. After all, this is the preservation and creation of jobs, salaries for people, and deductions from these salaries to local budgets. This opinion was voiced by the economic expert Oleksandr Okhrimenko in a comment to UNN.

According to the expert, despite the war, for small towns now is a quite favorable moment to promote the opening of new enterprises.
"At the moment, new productions are really actively being organized in small towns. First of all, the production of weapons, although also other goods. But this all depends solely on the local authorities, Kyiv does not make decisions. Part of the business from the eastern regions has moved to the western and central ones. If the local authorities work, help the business to organize production, then this is a wonderful interaction," said Oleksandr Okhrimenko.
At the same time, the expert emphasizes that the local authorities should also take care that the existing enterprises continue to operate and maintain jobs, since taxes from salaries are one of the main sources of filling local budgets.
"Local budgets in the country depend on wages. If the region works in white and pays a salary, then 60% of the tax from the salary goes to the local budget. Accordingly, there are funds, various expenses.
If the authorities cooperate constructively with the business and it does not go into the shadows, then the local authorities have money. Otherwise, it's impossible," added the economic expert.

The head of the enterprise "Brovaframa" from Brovary, Andrii Sydielnikov, said that the interaction with the city authorities of Brovary makes the business more socially responsible.
"It is comfortable for the business to work - the business, accordingly, tries to develop and increase some business activity on the territory of the community. The community receives taxes in the local budget from the payroll fund," Sydielnikov said in a comment to UNN.
In turn, the mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, emphasized that the preservation and normal operation of business has been and remains a priority for the city.
"For us it was and remains that the business in the city worked, that the enterprises produced their products, that new jobs were created. We constantly communicate with the heads and owners of enterprises, discuss all problematic issues, and jointly look for solutions," Ihor Sapozhko told UNN.
