An investigation team has been set up in Slovakia to verify the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine. This was reported by Pravda, according to UNN.

Details

Investigators will look into the actions of the Defense Ministry and government officials who allowed hundreds of millions of euros worth of equipment to be shipped during the last election period.

Interior Minister Matusz Szutai Esztyk said that the group will study statements from legal entities and individuals, as well as the report of the Supreme Audit Chamber, which reveals the details of the deal. The goal is to fully investigate the incident and establish the truth.

In this regard, Šutaj Eštok called the transfer of equipment “arbitrary”, which not only weakened Slovakia's defense capabilities, but also had financial consequences. He emphasized that this situation requires strengthening public finances, as the government has lost significant resources due to the uncontrolled transfer of equipment.

The decision to transfer the equipment was made during the tenure of former Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy, when Slovakia transferred a significant amount of military equipment to Ukraine, including the S-300 air defense system, combat vehicles, helicopters, and other resources.
