Ukraine is counting on stable and timely assistance from its partners this year , with external financing needs amounting to more than $37 billion. This was stated on Wednesday by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting, UNN reports.

Shmyhal said that $42.6 billion of external financing was attracted in 2023. Of these, 27% are grants. The leaders of support are unchanged: The EU, the US, the IMF, Japan, Canada, the UK, and the World Bank.

At the same time, he said, Ukraine is steadily increasing its budget revenues, primarily customs and tax revenues. "More than UAH 1.1 trillion of taxes, duties and other payments were paid to the general fund of the state budget last year," the Prime Minister said.
"We are allocating all these funds for security and defense. This year we plan to spend more than UAH 750 billion on payments to the military. More than UAH 265 billion will be spent on the purchase, production and repair of weapons," he said.
