The Russian leadership has created units that operate in combat areas to "brainwash" the population. This was stated by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov at the Third International Forum on Strategic Communications Kyiv Stratcom Forum 2024, UNN reports with reference to the GUR.
In Russia, there is an absolutely non-bulletinistic concept, as they say, an official concept called "information isolation." For this purpose, appropriate units have been created. They are definitely in the system of the Ministry of Defense. They operate in combat areas, they are in many different branches of government
According to him, the task of "information isolation" is to completely cut off the population from truthful information and give only what is needed at the right time. Budanov pointed out that positions change very often, but no one is interested in this.
"It is possible to fight this in our controlled territories. In the uncontrolled territories, unfortunately, it is unrealistic. And this will also be a big problem after their release. Because the brainwashing is quite serious," the DIU chief noted.
