The agency recalled that the suspect is the older brother of the former traitor MP from the Servant of the People party, Oleksiy Kovalev, who, after the occupation of the regional center, publicly supported the region's "accession" to Russia and became the "deputy" of Gauleiter Saldo "on agriculture."
Based on the evidence collected, Yuriy Kovalev was notified of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) and Part 5 of Article 111-1 (collaboration)
Since he is on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice. The offender will be found and punished.
Addendum
Using his brother's "status", Yuriy Kovalev "reoriented" more than 20 controlled companies in the region to the needs of the aggressor country. To do this, he "re-registered" them under Russian law. Among them is a local agricultural holding, which this year transported almost 35 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain to Russia for a total of UAH 140 million
In addition, investigators found that on the instructions of Yuriy Kovalev, the gas stations under his control provided "extraordinary" fuel for Russian military equipment, including enemy tanks and armored vehicles.
Together, the defendant's companies actively supplied "food rations" to the racists stationed at Russian checkpoints in the occupied part of the region.

Yuriy Kovalev's enterprises also regularly finance the budget of the aggressor country in the form of paying "taxes" and "fees". In August 2022 alone, one of his agricultural companies transferred almost 3 million Russian rubles to the invaders.
