The Verkhovna Rada is preparing an appeal to the countries of the world not to recognize Vladimir Putin as the legitimate president of Russia. This was stated on Radio Liberty by the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, UNN reports.

He noted that earlier a statement by PACE President Theodoros Rouxopoulos had been released in which he questioned the legitimacy of the elections in Russia.
"The Ukrainian delegation was one of the initiators of the call for non-recognition of Putin as legitimate in one of the PACE resolutions. This is the result of Ukrainian parliamentary diplomacy. And I would like to remind you that a presidential decree was passed, which clearly states that Putin cannot be considered a representative of Russia, and that he cannot be negotiated with. That is, this is already enshrined in the legal plane," Merezhko added.
