The Verkhovna Rada has passed a resolution dismissing Mykola Zadorozhnyi, a Servant of the People MP suspected of bribery, from his post as head of the PIC on the use of state budget funds for the construction of fortifications and the purchase of drones. Oleksandr Bakumov has been appointed as the new head of the PIC. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.

According to the resolution, the MPs recalled Mykola Zadorozhnyi, a member of the Servant of the People party, from the position of the head of the PIC on the use of state budget funds allocated for the construction of fortifications and engineering barriers on the contact line, as well as for the manufacture and purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles and electronic warfare equipment for military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine.
Instead of Zadorozhnyi, another MP from the Servant of the People party, Oleksandr Bakumov, was elected chairman of the PIC.

In May, the Verkhovna Rada set up a temporary special commission on the construction of fortifications and the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles, with Mykola Zadorozhny as its chairman.
In July, the NABU and the SAPO served MP Mykola Zadorozhnyi with a notice of suspicion of extortion of undue advantage for not interfering with the repair of infrastructure in Sumy region.
Zadorozhny was later expelled from the party.
The court imposed on Zadorozhnyi a measure of restraint in the form of bail in the amount of three million 28 thousand hryvnias.
