Russia has not used aircraft to mine the seas for several months after losing another Su-24 that dropped bottom mines, but many sea mines remain at sea, moving unpredictably and requiring constant search and clearance efforts.

Russia used to use aircraft to mine the seas, but after losing another Su-24 for several months, they have not done so. However, there are still many sea mines in the sea. This was stated by the speaker of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.

As of now, there is much less capacity. Recently, when this happened, it was aviation that was used for this purpose. And after the loss of another Su-24 that was dropping bottom mines, they have not been doing this for several months. But we shouldn't forget that there were already quite a few of these mines in the sea, and given that the sea is an element, they move unpredictably on their own. Consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion, when everything that was mined on the left bank was washed away into the sea, so we have a lot of daily work to find and dispose of mines

- Pletenchuk said.

Recall

According to Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Russian missile carriers have not been on combat duty in the Black Sea for a month . From time to time, only patrol boats appear in the sea to adjust the boom barriers.
