51 exchanges have been carried out since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, during which more than 3,000 prisoners of war were returned. This was stated by a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, during a telethon, UNN reports .
According to Yusov, Ukraine is not waiting for the end of hostilities and is actively working to return prisoners.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 51 exchanges have already taken place and more than 3,100 people have been returned. Most of them are military, but there are also civilians. The work on this is ongoing," he added.

According to a UN report, Ukrainian prisoners of war were subjected to months of torture in Russian captivity , including beatings and broken bones. All this was done with blatant disregard for human dignity and caused long-term physical and mental trauma.
