Only serious, strong alliances, including countries such as the United States and China, can mediate between Ukraine and Russia. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference in Warsaw, according to a UNN correspondent.
"I did not know that he (Orban - ed.) was flying to Moscow. This is his independent choice. As for whether he can be a mediator? There is no mediation between Russia and Ukraine. Only serious, strong alliances can mediate," Zelensky said.
He emphasized that the whole world can force Russia to stop the war.
"It's not about mediation, it's about opportunities. You have to have an economy that influences Russia, or Russia and Putin depend on it, or you have a very powerful army that Putin fears, that is stronger than the Russian army. Are there many such countries in the world? Not many. I think the US is such a country, I think China is such a country, and I think the EU is such a country. Not any one country in the EU, no, the whole EU. It can really be such a mediation mission, so we have offered an opportunity to put pressure on Russia and stop Putin - this requires all forces to be united," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that Putin does not respect those who are weak.
"And even if he meets with a particular state, it does not mean that he wants to end the war. He wants to demonstrate some steps, but this demonstration is always followed by a bloody demonstration, which he demonstrated this morning in Ukraine," Zelensky said.
