The russian occupation authorities continue to violate the rights of Ukrainian children in the temporarily occupied territories. One of the most outrageous manifestations is the forced involvement of children in the so-called "Yunarmiya" - a military-patriotic organization that is a tool of Russian propaganda. This was reported by Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets in Telegram, UNN reports.
Details
He noted that open sources have revealed that 40 children from Berdiansk (Zaporizhzhia region) were forced to join the movement.
Children are forced to take an "oath of allegiance" to russia, promise to "protect its interests" and "cultivate great patriotism." After that, they are taught firearms and tactical training, and how to fly drones
According to the ombudsman, these youth movements are used by Russia as a tool for the forced re-education of Ukrainian children, depriving them of their national identity and preparing them to participate in a war against their own country.
This is a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions! According to them, children in the temporarily occupied territories are guaranteed protection from coercion, violence and involvement in military formations
Dmytro Lubinets called on the international community to "take decisive action: strengthen sanctions, intensify diplomatic pressure and draw attention to russia's crimes.
Recall
In the occupied territories, the invaders are creating engineering classes to teach teenagers how to assemble drones for the needs of the russian army. A program to expand the network of such classes has been approved until 2030.
