A police officer suspected of killing a teenager at a funicular station in Kyiv pleads not guilty. There are seven witnesses who are testifying in the case. The State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the man was drunk. This was reported by the SBI communications advisor Tatiana Sapyan during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.
"At the time, he (the suspect - ed.) was not on duty. But the fact that he was drunk was established by the results of the examinations. The tests showed 1.2 ppm of alcohol in his blood. The suspect himself does not admit his guilt, he refers to Article 63 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which states that each of us has the right to refuse to testify against ourselves," Sapian said.
She noted that seven guys from the deceased's company who witnessed the incident are testifying.
"The deceased 16-year-old boy was in a large group of boys, eight in total. Seven boys who witnessed these tragic events are testifying," Sapian said.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, on April 7, at station of the funicular in Kyiv, a conflict occurred between a man who serves as a driver in the State Protection Department and a minor. After getting out of the car at the upper station, the law enforcement officer pushed the teenager. He fell, smashed his head against the glass, and received a fatal cut to his neck. The minor died at the scene, the SBI said.
On April 8, a law enforcement officer was notified of suspicion of premeditated murder after he pushed a teenager who fell and died at a funicular station in Kyiv.
According to the Zmina Football School, the deceased was their 16-year-old student.
