More than a thousand Russian citizens living in Latvia have to leave the country because they have not fulfilled the conditions for extending their stay. This is reported by Delfi with reference to the head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration Affairs, Maira Roze, UNN reports.
More than 1,000 people are subject to expulsion. We see that there are many latecomers who are still trying to figure things out, to apply for a permanent residence permit, but unfortunately, we have to tell them that they have to leave, because none of the provisions of the law apply to them

Maira Roze said that about 15,500 Russian citizens have applied for permanent residence permits in Latvia and almost 3,000 more for temporary ones.
At the same time, about 2,200 people did not fulfill the necessary actions to extend their stay in the territory of the kriyina.

In early October, it was reported that 3,255 Russian citizens who had not applied for EU permanent resident status had been invited to leave Latvia by the end of November.
