In Kyiv, a decrease in the number of complaints and the number of cases of acute intestinal infections is currently being recorded. However, there is a possibility of an increased incidence. More than 300 supermarkets and shops are monitored daily for compliance with the temperature regime. This was reported to UNN by Oleh Ruban, Head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv.

As for the peak of morbidity, we have already passed it. The number of complaints is decreasing and the number of cases is decreasing. If we had 3 outbreaks of acute intestinal infections the week before last, 2 outbreaks the week before that, and only one this week, we have only one

- Ruban said.

He also said that more than 300 supermarkets and shops in Kyiv are monitored daily for temperature compliance.

"All operators are being closely monitored. More than 300 supermarkets and shops are monitored daily for compliance with the temperature regime. The situation is leveling off as the temperature drops and alternative power supply is put in place, so we can say that the situation is being resolved. But today there is a possibility of increased morbidity, so further measures will continue," Ruban said.

He also said that doctors work at each fair to enforce the ban on the sale of perishable products.

"Each market has a laboratory (veterinary and sanitary - ed.), and doctors work at each fair to control the ban on the sale of perishable products. Therefore, the situation is generally under control today," Ruban said.
