Since the beginning of the year, more than 10,000 fires have occurred in Ukraine in natural ecosystems and open areas, damaging almost 6,500 hectares of land, and 1248 offenders have been brought to justice, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Wednesday, UNN reports.

"More than 10 thousand fires in natural ecosystems and open areas. This is the number of fires recorded in Ukraine since the beginning of this year. The fire has damaged almost 6.5 hectares of Ukrainian land," the SES reported on social media.
As noted, over 1.2 thousand rescuers and 274 units of SES equipment were involved in extinguishing dead wood fires last night alone.
The SES reminded that burning dry grass is strictly prohibited by law.
They pointed out that 1248 violators have already been brought to justice in 2024.
