In February, the state budget expenditures amounted to UAH 274.6 billion, while at the beginning of the year this amount was UAH 424.8 billion.
This is evidenced by the monthly reporting dataand the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, UNN reports.
In January-February 2024, cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget amounted to UAH 424.8 billion. In February, this amount was UAH 274.6 billion.
Most of the expenditures are directed to :
UAH 179.9 billion (including UAH 104 billion in February) or 42.3% of the total expenditures spent in January-February 2024. In particular, UAH 137.4 billion was allocated for the salaries of military personnel (UAH 80 billion in February);
to pay for the use of goods and services UAH 55 billion (in February - UAH 45.8 billion) or 13% of total expenditures. This includes UAH 21.7 billion to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This includes the purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment (helmets, body armor and other special equipment), fuel and lubricants, and food;
UAH 22.3 billion was transferred by the National Health Service of Ukraine to implement the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population; -Social security - UAH 89.5 billion (payment of pensions, benefits, scholarships) (in February - UAH 47.6 billion) or 21.1% of total expenditures. This includes: - UAH 42.5 billion was transferred to the Pension Fund to ensure the payment of pensions, allowances and pension increases. - The Ministry of Social Policy received UAH 23 billion for the social protection of children and families, support of citizens in difficult circumstances and assistance to low-income families.
In addition, UAH 9.4 billion was allocated by the Ministry of Social Policy to pay housing subsidies and benefits for citizens to pay for housing and communal services and purchase household fuel. - UAH 35.6 billion was allocated for public debt servicing (UAH 26.1 billion in February) or 8.4% of the total;
UAH 23.7 billion was allocated for transfers to local budgets (UAH 11.9 billion in February), or 5.6% of the total.

The government plans to reduce the number of vacant positions in state agencies by almost 19,300 to cut costs and prevent overstated salaries due to excessive vacancies.
