Mexico and Nicaragua have announced the suspension of diplomatic relations with Ecuador following an incident at the Mexican Embassy in Quito.
Ecuadorian security officers searched the embassy and arrested former Vice President of Ecuador Jorge Glas, who was on the territory of the embassy.
The incident drew angry condemnation from Mexico and Nicaragua.
Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador called the raid a "gross violation of international law and sovereignty" and ordered the suspension of diplomatic relations with Ecuador.
