Russia and India have made tangible progress in negotiations on plans for joint production of military equipment. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov after talks with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Moscow, UNN reports with reference to Reuters.
Speaking at a press conference, Lavrov said that such cooperation is strategic, in the interests of both countries and will contribute to security on the Eurasian continent.
"...Moscow respects India's desire to diversify its military equipment suppliers and is ready to support New Delhi's desire to produce the goods India needs in India," Lavrov was quoted as saying.
