The subway bridge in Kyiv connecting the left and right banks of the Dnipro River is in a state of disrepair. In this regard, there is a risk of partial closure of the "red line" of the subway. This was reported by Andriy Vitrenko, chairman of the Kyiv City Council's Standing Committee on Budget, Socio-Economic Development and Investment Activity, during a telethon, UNN reports.
It had been known for two years that the subway bridge was in such a tired state, but only this year was its overhaul or any repair work related to it budgeted. For two years, no one paid attention to this, they just stated this fact. If the examination shows that the subway bridge will have to be closed, funds have now been allocated for the development of design estimates, for the creation of appropriate search works, and if it is confirmed that it is dangerous, then, unfortunately, there will be a requirement to close this bridge that connects the two banks

According to Andriy Vitrenko, the closure of the bridge on the Red Line is an "apocalyptic" scenario, as there are not enough bridges in Kyiv.
In addition, the official noted that bridges are strategic objects for the movement of not only citizens.
"We are under martial law in our country, which is associated with certain restrictions and the need to provide resources for the activities of the Defense Forces," he said.
