Tetris is a puzzle game built on the basis of tetraminoes: geometric shapes consisting of four squares.

It was on July 18, 1985, that the electronic version of this computer game, which was released in June 1984, was presented.

There are more than a hundred versions of Tetris. According to some studies, Tetris is effective in combating drug addiction and overeating.

Since 2009, the UN has been celebrating the International Day of Nelson Mandela, a famous politician, public figure and fighter against apartheid, who was born on July 18, 1918, in the family of a member of the Temba Royal Council.

At birth, Mandela was given the name Rolihlahla. At school, his missionary teachers began calling him Nelson, in honor of the prominent English admiral Horatio Nelson.

In 1944, Mandela became a member of the African National Congress and one of the co-founders of the ANC Youth League.

In 1963, Mandela was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for participating in protests against the apartheid policy that was then being implemented in South Africa.

In the early 80s, a powerful campaign “Free Nelson Mandela” was launched. On February 11, then-President of South Africa Frederik de Klerk ordered the release of Nelson Mandela.

In 1993, Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize, and on May 10, 1994, he was sworn in as the first black president of the Republic of South Africa.

After Mandela left the presidency in 1999, he was active in public life.

He died on December 5, 2013 at the age of 96.
