Jerusalem resumes trial of Prime Minister Netanyahu: accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust

The trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resumed in the Jerusalem District Court on Monday. The trial was suspended on October 7 amid the Hamas attack on Israel. This was reported by The Times of Israel, according to UNN.

Details

Netanyahu is accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.

The Israeli Prime Minister  is involved in three cases:

-    Case 4000 - granting benefits to the TV company "Bezek in exchange for positive coverage on its website Walla;

-    Case 1000 - receipt of gifts by the prime minister gifts from billionaire donors;

-    Case 2000 - holding of a firestorm about positive coverage of the work of the of the government in the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth in exchange for the reduction of its competitors.

The state prosecutor stated that his part of case 4000 would be completed by January, and cases 1000 and 2000 in the following months.

Netanyahu denies any of the charges against him and claims they were fabricated.

Background

Prime Minister Netanyahu's trial began three years ago, and it is currently believed that it, including possible appeals, is unlikely to end before will end before 2028-2029.
