If producers participate directly in tenders for food for the Ukrainian army, the price of their products will be lower. This is how Nazar Mykhailovyn, acting chairman of the board of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine "Ukrtsukor", assessed the initiative of the Ministry of Defense to minimize the presence of intermediaries in tenders in an exclusive commentary to UNN.
Mykhailovyn noted that the companies that are members of the association participate in the Defense Ministry's tenders and will continue to do so.
Sugar factories that are members of our association already participate in these tenders. They plan to do so in the future as well. In general, I agree that if producers participate directly, the price will be lower: the price they offer, that is, without additional markups. Therefore, the initiative is, of course, positive

Recently, Arsen Zhumadilov, Director General of the State Logistics Operator of Ukraine, announced a new defense procurement strategy that aims to ensure maximum participation in tenders by manufacturers, including national ones, rather than intermediaries. It also envisages the gradual abolition of discriminatory requirements that created advantages for certain market participants.
"We build all our procurement strategies in such a way as to enable manufacturers to participate directly in our tenders. That is, to work not through intermediaries, but with those who directly produce certain products. If these are residents of Ukraine, i.e. our domestic national producers, then we are talking about them. If something is not produced in Ukraine, in principle, or is not produced in sufficient quantities, and we work with foreign producers, we will make efforts to enter into contractual relations with them directly," Zhumadilov said .
