There comes a time when the cold makes furry friends seek warmth. Cats like to hide near the engine and other parts that generate heat. There they seek protection and fall asleep. Unfortunately, cats don't always wake up when you start the engine, and at best they get a ride with you, at worst they get seriously injured
Tips for drivers on how to avoid injuring a cat:
- Tap on the hood or wheels - a loud sound will scare the animal and it will run away;
- Check the space under the hood near the engine in case there is a furry passenger;
- Listen: kittens may make faint sounds
