more than 70% of patients with hepatitis A bought food at the local Vinnytsia market. Employees of the bazaar and epidemic-prone enterprises were tested and a possible source of diseases was found. This was announced by the Chief Sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin during an interview, the correspondent reports UNN.
We drew attention to the fact that more than 70% of patients bought food at the local market and therefore switched to testing already Market employees or those enterprises that are epidemic dangerous. At least 3,800 people were tested, these are those who work in such industries, in order to potentially find the source of infection. We have 9 positive results and this is quite a large number. This means that the person transmitted the hepatitis virus, let's say, in an erased form. Sometimes this person did not even go to a doctor or for medical care, but worked in an epidemic-threatening field, that is, sold food
Details
In total, 324 people fell ill in the Vinnytsia region. According to Kuzin, as of now, only isolated cases of hepatitis A are registered.
Comprehensive measures have been applied to stop the spread of the disease. First of all, we started with disinfection of drinking water. The so-called post-exposure preventive vaccine was also used. That is, vaccination after contact with already confirmed cases of the disease. Thus, at least 680 medical workers were vaccinated. And at least 120 contact people from home cells.
Recall
Recently, the Department of Health and rehabilitation of Vinnytsia region responded to the request of UNN that one of the two main versions of the outbreak of viral hepatitis A in Vinnytsia region, experts are considering infection through water. Also, the option of contact-household transmission of the virus is not excluded.
