In the evening of July 30, cyber specialists of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine completed one of the largest DDOS attacks on the aggressor state's Internet infrastructure in history, hitting critical resources and gaining access to a large array of confidential data, sources told UNN.

Details

According to Ukrainian intelligence sources, the attack lasted continuously for a week and affected the online services of all major Russian banks, including the central bank, telecommunications service providers, national payment systems, social networks and messengers, government resources, and dozens of other services.

All the attacked resources, according to the sources, were involved in supporting or financing the armed aggression of the terrorist state against Ukraine in one way or another. "The attackers included VTB Bank, Alfa Bank, SebrBank, Raiffeisen Bank, RSHB Bank, Ak Bars, Rosbank, Gazprombank, T-Bank, iBank, Dom.rf Bank and Bank of Russia. On the last day of the attack, the resources of the Russian Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Federal Tax Service were also affected," the source said.

"As of 19:00 on July 30, the Russians have not managed to restore the proper functioning of leading banking and payment systems, mobile operators, social networks and Internet providers. There are still malfunctions on the web resources of the Russian Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Federal Tax Service," the source said.

The Russian media called this cyber strike "probably the most powerful in history", "carpet hacking" and "a major offensive by cyber troops". As a result, the source said, millions of users in all regions of Russia who were unable to use Internet services felt the results of the GRU operation. According to enemy cyber analysts, given the success achieved by Ukrainian hackers, the forecasts for the consequences of the next similar attacks are "disappointing.

"We can now breathe out and declare the operation complete. We thank everyone who participated, helped and supported us. Of course, this is only a prelude to even more interesting events. The Russians are well advised to start digging a grave for their digital infrastructure. This is a good time for the enemy to remember the idea of an isolated, native Russian "Cheburnet" with moats, digital choppers, and firewalls around the perimeter. See you in the next act of this fascinating story," commented the source in the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
