In late June, German citizen Rico Krieger was sentenced to death by the Minsk Regional Court. This was reported by the monitoring telegram channel "Belaruski Gayun", UNN reports .

The man was charged under the following articles: "illegal actions with firearms", ‘rendering transport or means of communication unusable’, ‘creation or participation in an ’extremist" formation", ‘agent activity’, ‘mercenarism’ and ‘act of terrorism’.
It is known that the man has a minor child in Germany. We also note that it is currently unknown whether the verdict has been appealed or protested and whether it has entered into force,
According to human rights activists, the sentence was handed down on June 24, 2024. Rico Krieger is 30 years old, a military doctor for the German Red Cross, and previously worked as a security specialist at the US State Department in Berlin.
