The ruling Georgian Dream party  will not remove the article on integration into the European Union and NATO from the Constitution  of Georgia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, UNN reports with reference to Georgia Online.

I can tell you unequivocally that we are not talking about removing Article 78 from the Constitution or changing this article, but about something else, which we will tell you about later, if the relevant consultations are successfully completed

- Kobakhidze said.

He did not answer a clarifying question about whether it was a change in the system of government. He called for waiting for the consultations to be completed.

Addendum

According to Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia, the constitutional bodies, within the limits of their powers, must “take all measures to ensure the full integration of Georgia into the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

To recap

Despite calls from international partners, on May 28, the Georgian parliament overrode the president's veto on the “law on agents.” This law declares all civic and media organizations that receive funding from the country's strategic partners to be carriers of foreign influence.

Following the adoption of the law, the European Union suspended some of its aid to Georgia, and the United States postponed military exercises indefinitely. The United States also suspended over $95 million in aid to the Georgian government.
