Foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries condemned the actions of North Korea, which the day before launched a rocket into space despite and transferred weapons to Russia for the war against Ukraine. Details
The statement says that any launch using ballistic missile technology, even if it is characterized as a military reconnaissance satellite, is "a clear, flagrant violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions."
In addition, the G7 emphasized that the DPRK continues developments in the nuclear sphere, which contradicts UN resolutions.
The G7 also condemned North Korea's supply of weapons to Russia, which it plans to use in the war against Ukraine.
We call on North Korea and Russia to abide by these UN Security Council resolutions and immediately cease all such activities
The G7 called on the world to provide a "swift, united and decisive" response.
As a reminder,
On November 22, North Korea launched a reconnaissance satellite into orbit, ignoring warnings from the United States and its allies. In response, South Korea suspended part of the military agreement signed with Pyongyang in 2018.
