For 10 years, russia has not provided any information about the Ukrainian civilians it has detained without any evidence and is actually holding them captive. This was stated by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets during the event "Civilians in illegal detention by russia: joint steps of the authorities and civil society for their release", reports UNN correspondent .

russia has been abducting and imprisoning Ukrainian civilians since early 2014. Even then, the russians began to detain civilians without any evidence, holding them effectively captive. By doing so, the russians are violating international humanitarian law. There is a direct provision in Article 3 of the Geneva Convention that prohibits taking civilians hostage. We all know about it, but russia continues to do it. The problem is probably that there is no responsibility for violating this rule.
