The pre-trial investigation into corruption in the waste recycling sector has been completed. Three episodes of criminal activity involving the former head of the state enterprise Ukrekoresursy were established: the misappropriation of over UAH 22 million during the purchase of fandom and presses.

The investigation into the case of embezzlement of UAH 22 million during the purchase of fandom and presses is completed, the SAPO press service reports.
Three episodes of criminal activity were established:
- former director of the state enterprise Ukrekoresursy;
- 2 representatives of private companies;
- Individual.
The following is currently known:
The director of a state-owned enterprise entered into a number of contracts with a private company for the purchase of 100 units of used container collection machines (allegedly to fulfill statutory tasks).
The devices are designed to exchange metal and plastic containers (aluminum cans and PET bottles) in public places for cash.
However, according to the investigation, these contracts were not fulfilled. Instead of receiving the relevant fandoms for the needs of the communities, a group of people, using a number of forged documents and creating the appearance of fulfilling the contracts by supplying non-working devices, seized funds of the state enterprise in the amount of UAH 13.69 million, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office informs.
- These persons, using forged documents on the origin and cost of the supplied equipment, obtained a loan of more than UAH 8.7 million from a banking institution on the security of the same non-working fandoms, and took possession of these funds.
The third episode of criminal activity:
- In September 2012, the director of Ukrekoresursy entered into five financial leasing agreements and sale and purchase agreements secured by this leasing for horizontal automatic presses manufactured by a US company for over UAH 10 million.
At the same time, the director of the state-owned enterprise chose a limited liability company controlled by the participants in the crime as a supplier, which resulted in artificially inflated prices and the seizure of more than UAH 8.5 million of state-owned enterprise funds
