Ukraine's power grid is in a deficit today, and it may increase in the evening, NPC Ukrenergo said on Wednesday, indicating that it is looking for ways to cover the deficit, UNN reports .

As indicated, there are three main reasons for the deficit:
- increased consumption due to the cold snap;
- increased accident rate of power plant units;
- insufficient electricity imports from the EU.
"We urge Ukrainians to conserve electricity during the day. Do not turn on powerful electrical appliances at the same time, turn off the lights in empty rooms, and postpone laundry to nighttime," the NPC urged.
