"Caesar artillery guns, self-propelled 120-mm mortars and ammunition for them. This is part of what Denmark is co-financing as part of the latest donation package to Ukraine," the Defense Ministry said.
"The artillery and mortar systems are in great demand in Ukraine. (...) The donations are made in cooperation with our allies and send an important signal that we support Ukraine on a broad front," said Danish Defense Minister Trolls Lund Poulsen.
According to the country's Defense Ministry, the military aid package announced today is the 16th and "has a value of about 2.3 billion kroons." "The money will, among other things, co-finance Caesar artillery guns in cooperation with France and 155-mm artillery shells in cooperation with Estonia and the Czech Republic," the statement said.
"With this donation package, we are showing Ukraine and our European allies that Denmark is willing and able to continue our support for Ukraine for as long as necessary. I hope that more countries will follow suit and contribute to the realization of these opportunities as soon as possible," said Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
"With the 16th donation package, we emphasize that we are with Ukraine for the long haul. Their fight for freedom is also Europe's fight, and we cannot afford to let the Ukrainians down now. We must and must continue our support, which is absolutely crucial for the outcome of the war," said Trolls Lund Poulsen.
