As a result of drone attacks on russian oil depots, gasoline prices in russia have jumped to a record high over the past six months. This is reported by the russian media, UNN reports.

Details

It is noted that on March 1, 2024, russia reintroduced a ban on fuel exports, but gasoline continues to rise in price on the stock exchange.

The journalists explain that the price of automobile fuel is rising amid drone attacks on large oil refineries in russia, which have forced them to shut down.

In particular, on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange in russia, the price of gasoline exceeded 60 thousand rubles ($657) per ton, which is the highest since the end of September 2023, when gasoline prices in Rrussia began to decline after the introduction of a temporary embargo on fuel exports

The russian media, citing its own sources, said that the rise in stock prices was caused only by concerns about the balance of supply and demand due to problems with the refinery. The extent of the damage caused to the companies is unclear.

If it turns out that the primary oil refining units are damaged, the production of not only gasoline of various brands, but also diesel fuel will be reduced.

Addendum

On March 12, a drone attack caused a fire at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery in russia, and the next day drones attacked the Ryazan and Novoshakhtyn refineries.

Earlier, other refineries, such as the Volgograd and Tuapse refineries, have been shut down for unscheduled repairs since early 2024 due to attacks and equipment failures. The Ilyichevsk refinery was also shut down, but it soon returned to normal operations.

Recall

British intelligence said that russian oil refining capacity has been temporarily reduced due to numerous Ukrainian drone strikes on refineries across russia.
