Kyiv region is actively preparing for the heating season. In particular, the region will receive 19 cogeneration units, and there are also plans to install compact gas-fired thermal power plants. This was reported by Ruslana Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv RMA, UNN reports.

According to the head of the RMA, the authorities plan to ensure a comprehensive approach to the implementation of all measures that will make Kyiv region more energy sustainable.
He took part in a regular briefing on overcoming energy challenges chaired by Deputy Heads of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba and Rostyslav Shurma. Together with representatives of the government, RMA, local governments, diplomats and international partners, they discussed issues related to the rapid repair of energy facilities, protection of energy infrastructure and creation of a decentralized energy system
He said that at the briefing they discussed specific steps that our international partners are taking to help Ukraine, in particular the United States and Japan.
In particular, they discussed a specific set of measures and the needs of the regions to ensure that people have heat, light and water in winter.
Kyiv region, like the rest of Ukraine, is working on installing cogeneration units. In the near future, the region plans to install 19 such plants with a total capacity of more than 50 MW in the communities of Brovary, Bucha, and Vyshhorod districts. Work is underway to attract investors to implement similar projects
Kravchenko added that RMA plans to install compact gas-fired thermal power plants in a number of communities in Kyiv Oblast for education, healthcare, and social welfare facilities.
In addition, Kyiv region has already concluded 8 ESCO contracts for the implementation of energy efficiency projects totaling UAH 128 million. These include the thermal modernization of schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and the installation of solar power plants for critical infrastructure.
