The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not comment on The Washington Post's report that the leaders of Russia and China allegedly discussed plans to build a tunnel from Russia to the temporarily occupied Crimea, citing the "groundlessness" of the report. This statement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin at a briefing on Monday, UNN reports.

I will not comment on unfounded reports

- said Wang Wenbin.

This was his reaction to a report by The Washington Post that the leaders of Russia and China had discussed the Russia-Crimea tunnel project.

As a reminder,

The Washington Post reported that Russia and China are discussing the construction of an underwater tunnel to the occupied Crimea. The newspaper noted that Russian and Chinese businessmen with ties to the government are holding secret talks.
